Great eggs Benedict with pea meal bacon... so good that I haven't been able to order anything else when I get there. Huge portions for a good price. I'd never had found this place without my mother taking me there; it's kind of in a neighborhood that doesn't have much business. Definitely recommend for a no-nonsense breakfast or lunch.

Took 50 minutes to get our food and then my eggs Benedict had no hollandaise sauce, when I asked for it and it came back I just had melted butter everywhere which they claimed was their "house special hollandaise sauce"

My better half and I went there on Wednesday August 02, 2017. We went for a drive to Peterborough to check out the Lock Lift Tours. We went to Square Plates (suggested by google ask) and when we drove into the parking lot at the back of the establishment, the owner was sitting outside having a smoke. When we got out of the car, he welcomed us in. The place was empty, except for a younger couple sitting at one of the tables. We sat down and the owner slid open the windows which are at each table. No A/C, a few ceiling fans, so it wasn't the coolest place in town. He gave us a menu and mentioned the specials of the day. I ordered the banquet burger with fries and my partner ordered just the burger with fries. It took quite some time for the order to be cooked. Another couple walked in and then another gentleman. A few dead flies on a table where quickly picked up by the owner. Conversations were held between the other couple and the single guy. Finally our order arrived. It was hot, plentiful and quite decent. However he charged the same amount for the banquet burger and the regular burger. The bill was with tax, $18.02. I gave him a twenty and we got out of there.

I have dined here a few times. I am giving a 4 rating primarily because of the value of this restaurant - certainly an issue if you have a large family of hungry mouths to feed or you simply want a reasonable hearty meal. Family restaurants of decent quality and value are becoming harder to find and I prefer thse meals to hamburger chains. The owner/proprietor does the cooking always and serving most days. He uses quality products, its properly cooked and served. The soups are home-made stock the old fashioned way - delicious. Lots of spacious tables. Friendly and casual. If its fancy decor and upscale ambience you need - this is not the place, however its very clean and quite presentable setting for a hearty meal. Servings are big! Recommended!

This is probably the worst dining experience we have ever shared.
Hot Hamburg was probably not beef, the halibut was a square probably processed, and tasted like cardboard fries were not great atmosphere horrible.
Owner yelling at busboy who was evidently challenged, and he was complaining about his gout before telling us he had to take an OxyContin
Saw other reviews (not on this app) raving about this place, well anyone raving must be very, very hungry
